Aurora Cannabis Inc. (NYSE:ACB) is an Edmonton-based Canadian cannabis producer that is traded on the Toronto and New York Stock Exchanges.
Aurora is a giant in the world of marijuana production. The company has a funded production capacity of more than 500,000 kilos of marijuana per year, and its products are sold in 24 countries worldwide.
The company operates 8 growing facilities worldwide and three are still in production. Aurora has four separate cannabis brands for the adult consumer-use market, including Aurora, Altavie, San Rafael ‘71, and Woodstock.
Aurora also has a lengthy list of subsidiaries and strategic partners, including cannabis testing company Anandia Laboratories, hemp producer Agropro UAB, and Australia-based cannabis producer Cann Group, to name a few.
In February 2020, the company announced plans to layoff 10% of its workforce of around 3,400 located in 20 different countries. In December 2019, Germany suspended sales of Aurora’s products in the country due to permitting issues.
