Futura Farms

Since 2019, the Lima-based Futura Farms has partnered with universities and the private sector to research and develop cannabis products, with a specific focus on industrial hemp.

Peru legalized medical cannabis in 2017, but patients still have problems with access. Futura Farms sees research and development as key to helping the country develop a cannabis industry that could help employ people in some of the country’s most impoverished areas.

The company has helped create online platforms including an online course for health professionals who want to learn about medical cannabis, and “Organnical,” which connects doctors with patients seeking alternative treatment with cannabis-derived medicines. Moving forward, the company states that it is committed to developing high quality products and services that can help advance the growth of the cannabis industry throughout Latin America.
