Business Development and Sales Manager

The Cannigma is a fast-growing publisher in the cannabis space, dedicated to making credible cannabis information and solutions accessible to anyone who’s looking for it. The platform is designed to be a practical resource — for everyone from patients to doctors to recreational cannabis consumers — that lets readers easily find the info they need.

We’re looking for a business development and sales manager to represent the company to advertisers in the cannabis space around the world. This sales role presents an opportunity to really get to know the cannabis industry, and entails daily collaboration with the big players. 

The ideal candidate will be well spoken and articulate, both over the phone and face to face. 

We’re based in Herzliya, and currently working in a hybrid model. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Identify partnership opportunities
  • Develop new relationships with companies in the cannabis space in an effort to grow business and help company expand
  • Lead strategy to meet our advertising and sponsorship revenue goals 
  • Understand client needs and requirements and tailor solutions

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years sales experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably working with publishers and online advertisers
  • Professional experience in the cannabis industry
  • Mother tongue English – written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and client meetings – if and when relevant 
  • Experience in managing the full sales cycle from sourcing leads to managing negotiations to closing the deal
  • Experience with presentations, proposals, and pitching

SEO & growth hacker

The platform is designed to be a practical resource — for everyone from patients to doctors to recreational cannabis consumers — that lets readers easily find the info they need.

We’re looking for a content optimization ninja, who wakes up every morning looking for opportunities and won’t rest until they’re realized. Organic traffic is our main area of growth – so this is a central and crucial role. The ideal candidate will be able to look at the big picture and long term goals, while also being comfortable getting down and dirty with the little details.  

This is a full-time position. We’re based in Herzliya, but remote work is an option. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Building and leading The Cannigma’s SEO growth strategy to meet (or exceed!) traffic goals
  • Using SEO tools to uncover insights and tactics 
  • Researching and promoting new content directions
  • Regular reporting on growth and trends 
  • Collaborating with content and product departments to optimize website performance
  • Ongoing technical and on-page optimization efforts

 

Who you are:

  • At least 2 year’s SEO experience in a publisher setting 
  • English mother tongue level – reading, speaking and writing 
  • Proficiency with GA, GSC, ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and SEMrush
  • WordPress rockstar 
  • Experience in off-page optimization
  • Team player! We’re a small team and we get along like a house on fire 
  • Out-of-the-box thinking, go-get-’em attitude 
  • Independent learner 

 

For bonus points: 

  • German and/or Portuguese – a big plus 
  • Interest in/knowledge of/experience with the cannabis industry
Content producer - internship
Content producers for The Cannigma help to keep everything running smoothly — while learning about digital content, medical cannabis, social media and online advertising. Interns in this position are involved in every stage of the editorial process — including ideation, research, editing and online content management.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Content management — uploading, editing, image selection
  • Write briefs
  • Keep content fresh — keep on top of new research and regulations
  • Fact check articles, research, and images
  • Source cannabis writers, experts, and patients to contribute content
  • Initial research for cannabis article topics
  • Create content for social media — images and short clips to drive engagement
Who you are:
  • Mother tongue English, German, Portuguese, or Spanish
  • Digital native, especially when it comes to online content
  • Organized, with impeccable attention to detail
  • Natural writer/communicator
  • Previous cannabis knowledge — an advantage
